Last week, France’s Pulp Fashion celebrated curvaceous women with their second annual fashion show. Founder Blanche Kazi says,
“We have always been told that round women cannot be beautiful and sexy, that you have to dress yourself in old-fashioned stores. Look at my models, they are size 42 to 50 [US 10 to 18, British 14 to 22] – and they all have a voluptuous beauty.”
The show featured sexy lingerie, cocktail chic and summer dresses which was a preview of what’s to come during Pulp Fashion Week in April. Pulps founders are passionate about making the curvaceous figure more appreciated as they feel acceptance of the full figure is difficult to come by in France.
Pulp Fashion Creative Director Lalaa Misaki gave up and created her own line of clothing for women with similar body types.
“The media objects to giving us attention because they are afraid of curvy women being seen as obese women,” Kazi said.
